This vacuum is a little slower than other models, but it's still able to get into the most crevices and corners. It has a large bin which makes it much easier to empty. It is compatible with digital barriers and virtual barriers, which allow you to set it to avoid specific areas or to stop completely cleaning in order to prevent it from getting stuck on something.
Although it's not the top model for its price however, it's superior to many other options. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning performance than the Roomba 694 and it can clean both low-pile and bare carpets. It also has a longer-lasting battery and a better path. It is also more robust, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, and costs less over its life and charges faster than 694.
You may also want to consider other models in the iRobot range, such as the v7 or the 981. They also have a bigger dirt compartment, charge faster, move more easily, and are easier to pair up with smart home devices.
Shark RV1001AE IQ
This self-emptying robot that is budget-friendly does a decent job on hard floors as well as carpets with a low pile. Its combinator brush gets to corners and edges, and automatically increases suction when it senses carpet. It also does a great job of cleaning embedded dirt off carpet in the middle. The IQ has a tiny footprint and also a self-emptying function. If you wish to alter the floor level or set areas that are not allowed to be used, you'll need to manually reset the map.
The IQ app provides advanced mapping and automated functions, however it does not have no-go zones. These are available only on iRobot robots. Its intelligent-pathing navigation system provides greater maneuverability, and its high-pile carpet cleaning mode cleans well, but it is prone to get caught up on rug tassels. Additionally, its iHome speaker lets you control the robot with voice commands.
In our tests, we observed that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to eliminate lots of debris on floors that were unfinished and a decent amount of rug with a medium pile. It was less effective with shag carpets, as it was unable to reach dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It was capable of navigating the legs of chairs and tight spaces as well as the wooden base of an IKEA step stool. It was a little slower on floors that were not paved however, it was able to recover speed and did better than other robots we evaluated.
The IQ is a better option for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dust bin, lasts longer on a charge and is capable of moving itself around obstacles. It has mopping tools that are able to remove sticky mess. On the other side the iRobot is more durable and has fewer components that require maintenance or replacement, incurs lower recurring costs and can even create virtual no-go zones with its companion app. It is able to even resume a cleaning session from where it left off if it runs out of battery before it has completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice commands, which is a huge benefit for many users.
Eufy 11S
The RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum isn't among the most feature-rich models, but it provides excellent cleaning power for a low cost. It's designed for budget-conscious buyers who don't require a complex mapping system or an app to control the device. This robot can run for more than an hour and includes a remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.
The 11S is slim and sleek with a tempered glass upper deck that covers plastic and is made to look like brushed aluminum. It's a nice stylistic departure from Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more utilitarian and industrial.
The eufy11S did well in our tests at removing larger debris and fine dust from hard floors. However, it is able detect these obstacles using sensors. If it encounters them it ceases to move and emits a loud beep so you can manually steer it through the obstacle before getting it back to work.
Another excellent aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match the floor type and the amount of dirt. It's also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S in the direction you'd like it to go.
If you don't have many furniture in the space where you want to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent option. The eufy can spend 30 minutes focusing on cleaning the area that it is assigned to.
You can also opt for Edge Cleaning, which reduces the amount of time spent in each location to 20 minutes to ensure optimal battery life. This feature allows the eufy to move in a spiraling manner, cleaning corners and edges.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robotic vacuum that is a top performer on carpet. Its performance on carpets with no floor is also impressive. It is able to remove rice and other fine debris easily. The suction power doesn't drop as the dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed, allergy-friendly design traps allergens and keep your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA filter and self-emptying dustbin, so you don't have to buy additional filters or a separate vacuum bag.
It's not as powerful as the more expensive models, but it's excellent for dealing with dirt and deep cleaning. The two cameras on the front of the unit provide live images to your smartphone, and it has one of the most effective obstacle avoidance systems we've ever seen.
